Third-seeded Alice Marble defeated first-seeded Helen Jacobs 4â6, 6â3, 6â2 in the final to win the women's singles tennis title at the 1936 U.S. National Championships. The tournament was played on outdoor grass courts and held from September 3, through September 12, 1936 at the West Side Tennis Club in Forest Hills, Queens, New York.[1][2][3]
